Lou Dell’Orco
Chief, Operations Division, St. Louis District Corps of Engineers

In his leadership role with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Lou Dell’Orco is responsible for the operations of St. Louis District lakes and reservoirs and locks and dams in Missouri and Illinois and the navigation channels along the Mississippi, Illinois, and Kaskaskia Rivers. Dell’Orco also provides oversight of the Regulatory and Emergency Operations offices for the Corps. In his military capacity he served for more than 26 years in progressively more challenging and demanding leadership positions from Lieutenant to the rank of Colonel, with his assignments including stops in Ft. Belvoir, Ft. Leonard Wood, Korea, Germany, Belgium, Iraq, Honduras and Afghanistan, where his last assignment was as the commander of a Deployable Command Post which served as the staff backbone for the United States Army Forces-Afghanistan, Joint Engineer Directorate. He was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in May 1984.
